ICoTA (China) By-laws


1. Name:

Intervention & Coiled Tubing Association (ICoTA-China)


2. Mission:

Committed to enhancing the exchanges and cooperation between enterprise and public institutions, academic research institutes and individuals within intervention and CT industry, and promoting the development of China's oil well intervention and coiled tubing industry. 


3. Service Scope:

1)Member Recruitment and Management: formulate recruitment and management regulations, charge the membership dues, and grant the corresponding title to applicant;

2)Academic Exchange: Organize the members to hold related academic activities regularly. 

3)Trainings: Invite experts from the industry to conduct technical and product-related trainings for the members.

4)Information & Consulting Services: Provide industry-related information and consulting services to the members.

5)Association Publications: Organize professionals and members in the industry to write professional papers, compile and release the publications.

6)Industry Communication: Participate in industry organizations on behalf of ICoTA-China and attend related activities to promote cooperation.


4. Member Qualification:

Individuals, enterprises, associations, consulting agencies, universities and colleges, etc. engaged in the oil and gas industry worldwide can apply to join the association.


5. Member Requirements:

Follow the association's by-laws and voluntarily join the association;

Individuals need to have working experience in oil and gas industry.

Enterprises, associations and consulting agencies need to have relevant qualifications in oil and gas industry;

Colleges and universities need to set research directions related to oil and gas industry.


6. Membership Level:

It is divided into three levels: ordinary member, honorable member and council member.

1)Ordinary Member: 

Individuals can apply to become ordinary members of the association. Ordinary members can participate in the meetings organized by the association, but their issues to be considered need to be submitted to the council through the council members. Ordinary members are required to pay a certain dues, and have no right to vote in the council resolution.

2)Honorary members:

The Council may grant the title of honorary members to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the intervention and CT industry and associations. Honorary members do not need to pay any annual fees and enjoy the lifelong title. Honorary member need to be nominated by one council member and voted through 2/3 of the council units.

3)Council Member:

Any individual can apply to the association's office to become a council member. Usually, council members should represent the enterprises and organizations in the oil well intervention and coiled tubing industry, but this is not an essential condition. Council members are approved by a simple majority vote of the council. All council members constitute the council.

4)Non-executive Council Member:

The council has the right to invite ordinary members to become non-executive council members to participate in the council meetings, but it is subject to a half vote of the council.


7. Member Rights and Obligations:

1)Member Rights

·The council member has the right to vote and to be elected;

·The rights to know, participate in and vote for major events;

·The priority to participate in the activities of the Association;

·The priority to enjoy the services provided by the Association;

·To supervise the work of the Association, make comments and requests;

·To Join the association voluntarily and withdraw freely.

2)Member Obligations

(1)Abide by the by-laws of the association and implement the resolutions and stipulations. 

(2)Safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the association.

(3)Complete the work entrusted by this Council.

(4)Accept the business interworking of the association.

(5)To reflect the business situation and provide relevant information to the association;

(6)Pay the membership dues as required.


8. Organization:

The council is the highest decision-making body and the executive council is the permanent body.

The association office is the permanent office.


1)Council Powers and Responsibilities:

·Formulate the by-laws of the association;

·The member regulations and membership dues, etc;

·Approve the annual budget and expenditure of the association;

·Hold the regular meetings at least every quarter or every 4 months.


2)Executive Council's Powers and Responsibilities:

·The Executive Council is composed of the office staff and some Council members. It is the ultimate operation and management part of the Association;

·Approve the council member’s application for joining the association; 

·Approve the expenditures of activities, training, publications and website work, etc.

·Establish or modify the membership dues and member standards; 

·Negotiate with other associations on behalf of the Association as required;


3)Rights and Responsibilities of Permanent Office:

·The office is composed of one financial supervisor, one conference supervisor and one executive secretary;

·Convene the council units to hold regular meetings, record and release the minutes of the meeting;

·Organize and prepare activities, conferences and forums hosted by the Association;

·Responsible for the collection of membership dues and financial management of the association;


9. Membership Dues:

Ordinary member: 310 RMB / year

Council member: 3100 RMB / year

The Council has the right to adjust the dues of ordinary members and council members, and the charging standard is required to be published on its website.


10. The Council reserves all the right for the final explanation.
