In the future, the development of coiled tubing will see opportunities brought by the continuous technology development, the incessant adaptability improvement, the further development of unconventional oil and gas field, like tight oil and gas, shale oil and gas, and coal bed methane, the oil field transformation, and the extended application of coiled tubing. It is believed that the development of coiled tubing will constantly exceed people’s expectation in the years ahead. Coiled tubing will definitely have higher strength, better corrosion resistance and longer fatigue life, and the testing methods and process level will steadily be improved. The sustainable development of coiled tubing will be realized by consistent focus on customer needs.
The 6th ICoTA China Chapter International Coiled Tubing Workshop was successfully held on Sep. 4-5, 2019 in Chongqing, China, themed on “Science and Technology Leading to Win-win Future”. The workshop was hosted by ICoTA China Chapter and organized by Jason Energy Technologies Co., Ltd. About 100 professionals from over 30 well-known enterprises across the world were invited to attend.
As a global professional well intervention and coiled tubing association, ICoTA is committed to the communication among the coiled tubing enterprises worldwide to create a platform for exchanging coiled tubing technologies.
Since the first meeting in 2015, ICoTA China Chapter workshop has steadily become a high-level academic conference that gathers coiled tubing experts all over the world to promote academic exchange and share technological experience.
Mr. Lei Gao, Chairman of ICoTA China Chapter and President of Jason Oil and Gas Equipment LLC, delivered opening speech. He noted that the workshop is aimed to create an international platform in fast-developing China for industry communication to promote exchange and cooperation between the upstream and downstream enterprises of the coiled tubing industry chain, enhance technology exchange in China and the whole world, and increase interaction and communication within the industry. He believes that ICoTA China Chapter can serve as a platform that gathers the wisdom of the global experts and promotes the development of the coiled tubing industry in joint effort.

During the 6th workshop, which had a large scale, the guests were enthusiastic, and the coiled tubing experts from the enterprises and R&D institutes all over the world conducted in-depth discussion and raised questions on the topics and technologies of the lectures.
The guests remarked that by attending ICoTA workshop, they can learn the frontier technologies of coiled tubing industry every year, and that China exchanges technologies with the other countries through workshops like this, which helps put the new technologies and processes into deeper use, enhancing the global application and improving the operation processes of coiled tubing.
